Recent research on well-being describes legal professionals struggling to establish and keep boundaries between work and non-work life, with links to burnout, mental health issues, and leaving the profession. Participants will learn to recognize burnout and mental health issues in a hybrid or remote environment—including what you might see (and miss)—and receive take-aways from recent research on well-being in the legal profession. We will discuss strategies to support lawyers and staff in hybrid and remote environments, how to respond to concerns, factors promoting employee retention, ethics issues and firm liability, the negative impact of neglecting well-being issues, and available resources.
