10-11 a.m. | The legal athlete: How a holistic approach to practice can reduce burnout and stress
Athletes require high levels of physical and mental energy and motivation in order to perform at their best. To make sure of this they spend time before the game and after the game ensuring all areas of their practice are on point. They work on both their physical health and mental health.

Whether attorneys suffer their own trauma, or have clients who have been exposed to trauma, understanding the ethical and practical considerations of trauma is essential. The presentation will include perspectives as a litigator, client, neutral, arbitrator, and advisor, and how viewing trauma through various lenses can improve access to justice, judicial efficiency, and lawyer and client well-being.

Legal practitioners face unique challenges that often lead to stress and emotional strain. This transformative workshop is tailored specifically for lawyers, focusing on building resilience and utilizing HeartMath (Heart Rate Variability training) techniques to maintain emotional equilibrium amidst the high-pressure demands of the legal profession. Lawyers will learn the same practices taught at NASA and throughout the world where high performance and high stakes go hand in hand.
