With more than 30 years of family law experience, Mr. Ritchie will share how scheduling depositions early in a case often leads to an early settlement. Many cases can then be settled during the deposition, or immediately following the deposition, before the deposition is even transcribed. We will also look at ways depositions can be used in mediation or pre-trial conferences in an effort to avoid a trial. Finally, the presenter will demonstrate ways that a deposition can be used to expedite trial preparation and trial if a settlement cannot be reached.
