Missouri State Public Defender (MSPD) Director Mary Fox and Case Contracting Manager Maggie Johnston will describe in detail and answer questions about the MSPD Case Contracting program, which contracts with private attorneys to act as Special Public Defenders, providing criminal defense representation to indigent defendants all over the state. MSPD pays a retainer fee for each assignment, litigation expenses, and travel reimbursement.
