Guardians ad Litem find themselves appointed sometimes in custody matters that do not involve abuse or neglect. What is the role of the GAL in such cases? During the session, we will discuss the ways in which the GAL can assist families and the Court in their quest to advocate for the children's best interests.
The presentation will focus on: 

• Ways the GAL can define his or her role.
• How the GAL can give the Court what he/she needs to act in the child's best interests.
• How to help parents find the tools to act in their child's best interests.
