There are approximately 30,000 active military personnel within the state of Missouri. This number includes Guard and Reserve personnel who put their personal and professional lives on hold to serve our country. Join Scotty L. Allen, Managing Attorney of the Missouri Attorney General’s Office Military Legal Assistance Team, and learn how to better serve these individuals and their families. Topics will include:

  •  What it means to be a guardsman or reservist, their service obligations, and what legal protections they enjoy under state and federal law.
  •  The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), the Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), the Military Lending Act (MLA) and state laws that protect military servicemembers and their families from legal problems that commonly arise during times of deployment.
