Description

In this session we will discuss the most common types of automobile insurance coverages and the requirements of Missouri law related to those.  It will be a high level overview designed to help the listener make personal decisions about purchasing appropriate coverage and serve as a foundation for the Advanced Coverage Analysis session on July 14, 2020. 

Other focus points of the program will include: 

  • Auto liability insurance and RSMo 303.190 (commonly called the “Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law” or “MVFRL”) - the central law governing that coverage in Missouri 
  • Uninsured Motorist (“UM”) coverage and RSMo 379.203 – the law governing that coverage in Missouri  
  • Underinsured Motorist (“UIM”) coverage and RSMo 379.204 – the law governing that coverage  in Missouri 
  • Medical Payments (“Med Pay” or “MPC”) coverage
  • Comprehensive coverage for physical damage to an insured auto 
  • Collision coverage for physical damage to an insured auto
