The number of collection lawsuits filed against consumers has increased exponentially in the last decade.  Debt buyers, subprime finance companies, consumer lenders, and a host of other plaintiffs file thousands of cases each year in Missouri. Sadly, most consumer defendants do not know their rights or where to turn for help. This presentation will examine

  • How to spot common abuses in consumer collection lawsuits.

  • Fee shifting statutes available to the consumer lawyer.

  • Real case examples.

  • Being prepared for aggressive litigation tactics.
