A trusted advisor in the labor and employment sector, Whitney regularly counsels local, national, and international employers on a broad range of workplace matters and in litigation, including clients in a wide variety of industries and jurisdictions. Whitney is experienced in all aspects of litigation from the administrative proceeding phase through post-trial appeal, and she has taken a number of cases to trial (both bench and jury trials). Her experience also includes general advice and counseling to employers on day-to-day personnel matters, and extensive experience conducting impartial investigations into employee complaints.

In addition, Whitney helps clients in the financial and real estate industries thrive through savvy and efficient legal problem-solving. Through her experience in transactional work and litigation, she can advise clients on both sides of legal issues. Whitney cares deeply about ensuring the best possible result for her clients and regularly advises business owners on matters relating to real estate development, secured transactions, creditor’s rights, and contract negotiation and enforcement.

Prior to joining Swanson Bernard, Whitney worked for a large, international law firm specializing in management-side labor and employment defense. Whitney also served in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she counseled clients across multiple industries and worked closely with government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels. In addition, Whitney previously clerked for the Hon. Mark D. Pfeiffer and the Hon. A. Rex Gabbert at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.

Whitney received her B.A. from Truman State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
