This presentation will focus on strategies to for practicing attorneys to manage stress and anxiety in our current circumstances. We cover the prevalence of stress and anxiety in the legal profession and how it factors into leaving or considering leaving legal practice. We will discuss warning signs of stress and anxiety, and tips for responding effectively. We will cover several basic tips and strategies to manage stress and anxiety, and opportunities to use them in day-to-day practice. We cover common ethical dilemmas attorneys face. We will discuss available resources, dealing with distractions, responding to setbacks, choosing priorities when you’re overwhelmed, countering pessimism, creating a self-care strategy, and getting work restarted when it’s derailed by a crisis.
