Description

This program is designed for attorneys with limited or no mediation experience. This introductory course will inform the attorney on the basics of pre-mediation planning for self, the client, mediator and opposing party. We will discuss navigating the mediation session to inform the attorney on the use of the joint session, caucusing, working with the mediator, apologies, settlement documentation and post session activities in the event of impasse.  Attending this program will be helpful if the attorney wants to proceed to Mediation 201 or 301.

Mike is  co-chair of the MoBar ADR Committee.  He serves on the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri ADR Committee and is an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law. Mike is a distinguished fellow of the International Academy of Mediators.
