The program will focus on the current requirements for serving as a guardian ad litem, the process of being appointed, and best practices to assure payment for your work as a guardian ad litem. The program will focus on the technical requirements for each area, as well as providing practical tips on how to assure that service as a GAL is not only professionally rewarding, but economically feasible.

Mr. Harris’ practice is centered on family law, municipal law, business planning, estate planning and general litigation. He was born in 1972 in Warrensburg. He graduated from the University of Missouri law school in 1997, earning the designation of cum laude by graduating in the top five percent of the last five graduating classes. He served on the editorial board of the Missouri Law Review, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Central Missouri, and the past president of the Johnson County Bar Association. He is a member of the Missouri Bar’s Board of Governors, Missouri Bar’s Family Law Section Executive Council, the Missouri Supreme Court’s subcommittee on child support guidelines, and regularly teaches continuing education courses to Missouri attorneys in the area of family law.
