This CLE is a brief overview that will ensure that participants understand the power of a good opening and what to expect at their first jury trials.

  • How to present your case in a compelling manner.

Learn strategies for effective examination of witnesses at trial. How do you change the structure of your questioning, your demeanor, and your approach depending on who your witness is and what points you hope to get out of their testimony?

  • Preparation is key-both your preparation and preparing your witnesses. 
  • Each witness is just a piece of the puzzle.

  • When should I file a motion for summary judgment, instead of just proceeding to trial?
  • I lost my trial. What do I do now?

Presented in a multiple-choice "quiz" format, this program will address common ethics issues which can arise for trial lawyers relating to client communications, legal fees, confidentiality, and more. 
A few examples of what attendees will learn:

  • How to ethically withdraw from a representing pending trial.
  • How to ensure you're meeting your ethics duties to other clients while busy with trial. 
  • Whether and how information may be used in trial depending on how the information came into your possession.
  • What you can and can't do with flat fees and contingent fees which are common billing arrangements for some trial attorneys.
