Description

Due to the demanding nature of the legal profession, many lawyers find themselves dealing with anxiety and burnout at some point in their careers. Achieving wellness and work-life balance involves many strategies to cope with stress and establish healthy personal and professional boundaries. Dr. Kissinger, director of counseling at Stephen's College, will focus on helping attendees realize that they can identify their own strengths and use them to achieve mindfulness and wellness in the profession. This presentation will explore the concept of holistic wellness as it applies to personal and professional well-being, with attention given to wellness-based strategies across a range of therapeutic paradigms.

What you will learn:
•    The notion of holistic wellness as conceptualized through the evidence-based Indivisible Self Model of Wellness.
•    You will gain a more detailed understanding of your own wellness strengths and assets.
•    You will gain an understanding of a range of wellness-based concepts (i.e., mindfulness) and interventions (i.e., breathing techniques).

Speaker: Dr. Daniel B. Kissinger, Director of Counseling, Stephens College, Columbia
