As human beings, our brains are wired to make cognitive shortcuts based on our previous experiences and unconscious assumptions. Angela will discuss how implicit cognitive biases can negatively affect the ability of attorneys and their clients to effectively interpret information and make objective decisions in the mediation context, including ways to raise our own awareness of implicit biases and potentially improve our decision-making abilities.
