Description

This program was originally presented at our 2024 MOSOLO Small Firm Conference, June 6-8, 2024

The eviction process can be simple and straightforward. Nonetheless, many landlords (and their counsel) make errors that can give rise to tenant defenses and even counterclaims. This session will cover a "hit list" of procedural mistakes, overreach, and greedy behavior that can get landlords into hot water. Think there are no defenses to eviction cases? Think again!

You will learn:

  • Most common proper and improper methods of residential eviction.
  • How tenants can capitalize on the errors landlords (and their attorneys) make when evicting.
  • Basic tenant defenses and claims.
