This program was originally presented at our 2025 MOSOLO Small Firm Conference, June 5-7, 2025.

We will discuss the elements of medical malpractice claims in Missouri with reference to statutory requirements and present key practice tips. 

Learning objectives:

  • An understanding of the statutory requirements to bring and defend a medical malpractice claim in Missouri.
  • The importance of securing all key experts as soon as possible to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the case.
  • Doing your own review of all of the medical records (including the audit trail) is imperative.
  • Spend time getting to know and preparing your clients, whether you represent the plaintiff or the defendant.
