At age 19, Kevin Hines attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today, he is a mental health advocate who spreads a message of hope and recovery. This message is especially important for lawyers who are prone to mental health concerns. This September, for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, The Missouri Bar is hosting a virtual showing of Hines' documentary 'Suicide: The Ripple Effect.' A live panel discussion on reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the legal profession will follow the documentary, featuring Missouri lawyers John Gunn and Tara Moreland, Comm. William Gust, and MOLAP Director Stacy Parmer.
Speakers: John R. Gunn, AEGIS Law, Frontenac; Comm. William J. Gust, Probate Commissioner-St. Louis County Court, St. Louis; Tara L. Moreland, City of Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City; Stacy Parmer, MOLAP Director, The Missouri Bar, Jefferson City
