Opening Luncheon and Chief Justice's Address

Description

Thursday, Sept. 15 | 12 - 1:40 PM

The Opening Luncheon gives lawyers and judges the opportunity to both enjoy a delicious lunch and hear an update on Missouri’s justice system. At the heart of the luncheon is the “Chief Justice’s Address” delivered by Judge Paul Wilson, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri. Chief Justice Wilson will share his thoughts on the crucial issues facing the bench and bar.

The luncheon will also feature the figurative “passing of the gavel” from outgoing Missouri Bar President John Grimm of Cape Girardeau to his successor, Lauren Tucker McCubbin of Kansas City, as well as the formal swearing-in of McCubbin as leader of the organization.

In addition, the luncheon will include presentation of the “President’s Award” to individuals who have made particularly noteworthy contributions to the work of The Missouri Bar during the past year. Luncheon attendees will also recognize this year’s class of “Senior Counselors” – those distinguished men and women who will this year mark either 50 years in practice or attainment of the age of 75 years. Their examples of leadership and service to their clients offer a shining legacy of professionalism for all.
