Hon. Cristian Stevens
Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District
Judge Cristian Stevens was appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, in October 2021.
Judge Stevens served as First Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General for the Criminal Division of Missouri Attorney General's Office from 2019 to 2021. He served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri for 15 years. He also was in private practice for several years, and he was a law clerk for Chief Judge Pasco Bowman, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, from 1998-1999.
Judge Stevens has received serveral awards: the W. Oliver Rasch Award by The Missouri Bar Foundation for outstanding substantive article in the Journal of The Missouri Bar in 2019; the U.S. Attorney General's Award for Exceptional Service in 2015; and the U.S. Attorney's Award for Most Outstanding Trial of the Year in 2014.
Judge Stevens received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, cum laude, in 1998. He was editor-in-chief of the Missouri Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He received a B.A. in political science, magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1995.
