Denise Childress

Focusing her practice on DWI law, Denise Childress has become a sought-after instructor in this field. She has trained officers at both the St. Louis Police Academy and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy. She co-founded The Missouri DWI Institute, LLC, with a mission to educate Missouri's lawyers, judges, and law enforcement. She coordinates national DWI defense seminars as part of DUIDLA, training lawyers and judges across the country in places like Denver and Chicago. Denise hung out her own shingle, Childress Legal, in 2019 after working for and then partnering with Carl Ward. She is a trial attorney, representing clients in over 41 Missouri counties. Denise is proud to be hired by other lawyers to try their clients' DWI cases. 
Denise is the immediate past president of the St. Charles County Bar Association, where she remains as en banc-bar liaison and social chair. She has been proudly awarded the Women's Justice Award for General Practitioner, Missouri Lawyers Weekly, 2020; President's Award for Distinguished Service, Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, 2019; and Up & Coming Law Firm Leader Award, Missouri Lawyers Weekly, 2016.
