Hon. Heather Cunningham

St. Louis County Circuit Court


Heather R. Cunningham was appointed associate circuit judge Mar. 6, 2020, by Gov. Mike Parson. Prior to her appointment, Judge Cunningham previously served as a commissioner for the Juvenile Division of the Family Court.

Judge Cunningham graduated from Bradley University with a degree in political science and a minor in history. She received her law degree from St. Louis University.

Before her appointment to the bench, Judge Cunningham worked for the family law firm of Cordell & Cordell, P.C., and served as attorney for the juvenile officer in the 20th Circuit and the 21st Circuit Courts. She was an adjunct professor at St. Louis Community College -Meramec. Judge Cunningham serves as the co-chair of the Court's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and chair of the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative. She is also involved with the Court's Student Encouragement Program (formerly Truancy Court).

She is a member of The Missouri Bar, St. Louis County Bar, Women Lawyers' Association of St. Louis, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and Mound City Bar Association.

Judge Cunningham lives in St. Louis County with her family.
