James Putnam

Jim Putnam is a partner at the Kansas City based firm of McCausland Barrett & Bartalos and is in charge of the firm's Columbia office. He joined MBB in June 2013 after practicing in Jefferson City and Central Illinois. He has been practicing primarily in the area of insurance defense litigation since 2004. He has represented insureds for more than 18 insurance companies in a wide range of cases including personal injury automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises cases, subrogation matters, wrongful death suits, construction accidents, construction defects, inverse condemnation, liability cases against municipalities and school districts. He has been both lead or co-counsel on numerous jury trials.
Jim graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2004. Prior to law school, Jim graduated from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, where he was a four year student athlete in baseball and basketball and an Academic All-American in both sports. He is licensed in state and federal Courts in Missouri, Illinois and pending in Iowa.
