Julia is a partner with Spencer Fane LLP. She practices in the areas of employer health and welfare plans and retirement plans. She helps employers and other benefit plan sponsors comply with a broad range of legal requirements, including the Tax Code and labor laws, allowing them to recruit and retain talented employees with competitive tax-favored benefit packages while shielding their directors and officers from personal liability. She also advises clients on laws applicable to other employee benefit plans and programs, including health care reform and ERISA.

Julia is a member of The Missouri Bar, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. 

Julia was selected for inclusion to Ingram’s Magazine 2021 Class of Women Executives Kansas City (WeKC). This honor recognizes high-achieving women who hold professional leadership roles.

Julia received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa in 1994. She was also a law clerk for the 7th Judicial District of Iowa.
