Hon. Sarah Castle

16th Judicial Circuit


Judge Sarah A. Castle was appointed by Governor Michael Parson as Circuit Judge of Division 1 on October 20, 2020. 
At the time of her appointment, she was serving as Associate Circuit Judge of Division 27, having been appointed by the Governor to the bench on January 29, 2020. 
Previously, Judge Castle was served as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, a position she had held since 2013. Prior to that, Judge Castle served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office where she assisted in the prosecution of criminal cases specifically related to the illegal possession of firearms. 
Judge Castle grew up in Denver, Colorado. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2006, and a master’s degree in 2008 in Political Science with an emphasis in Civic Leadership and Disability Studies. She obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School in 2012.
