Shira Truitt is manager and General Partner of The Truitt Law Firm, LLC. Her practice consists of estate planning, family law, business law, and some education law. 

Shira is currently a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Mound City Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Metro East Bar Association, St. Clair County, Illinois, and Madison County, Illinois Bar Associations. A graduate of the Missouri Bar's Leadership Academy, Ms. Truitt co-chairs the Missouri Bar's Legislative Committee, represents the St. Louis Region on the Missouri Bar's Client Security Fund, and co-chaired the Technology Sub-Committee for the Missouri Supreme Court and Missouri Bar's Joint Committee on the Future of the Profession.  In the Illinois State Bar Association, Ms. Truitt has served on several task forces and currently participates with the Standing Committee on Women and The Law and Judicial Evaluations Outside Cook County.  Ms. Truitt served as an Assembly Member and was the 2016 Diversity Award winner.

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Shira Truitt is a proud graduate of Southern University and A & M College, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern University and A & M College, one of this nation’s HBCU’S. Ms. Truitt was admitted to Psi Chi, the Honors Fraternity for Psychology. Ms. Truitt's undergraduate thesis is entitled “A Retrospective and Prospective Look at Black Male Academies: A Survey of Black Male Seniors.” Ms. Truitt earned both her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Children and Youth and a Specialization in Family Therapy from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University and her Juris Doctoris from Washington University in St. Louis.
