The pandemic required law firms - large and small - to consider remote work issues on a large scale and the various related ethical implications. Now two and half years later, with the traditional bricks-and-mortar landscape of a law firm likely forever changed, law firms and lawyers continue to manage their ethical obligations, often in situations never contemplated by the rules and prior opinions. This presentation will be a primer on some of those key ethical issues that all lawyers and law firms, no matter the size, need to understand including issues related to technology, competency, confidentiality, and the unauthorized practice of law.
