Lisa Billman received her BSEd from the University of Missouri, and her J.D. from the University of Kansas. Upon graduation, she practiced at a small litigation firm. She has specialized in consumer bankruptcy law since 2014. Ms. Billman is admitted in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and the District of Nebraska.
Daniel J. Casamatta, in his 33rd year with the U.S. Trustee Program (USTP), is the Acting U.S. Trustee in Region 13 and the Assistant U.S. Trustee in Kansas City. He had previously managed the Grand Rapids office and served as Chief of the USTP's national training center in South Carolina.
Dana Tippin Cutler is a partner in her family's law firm, James W. Tippin & Associates. She graduated from UMKC School of Law in 1989 and from Spelman College with a B.A. in 1986. Dana is a Past-President of The Missouri Bar (Sept 2016-Sept 2017). She is a member of the American Bar Association; Jackson County Bar Association; and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. She was recently elected to the Council for the National Conference of Bar Presidents. Dana's practice is concentrated primarily in education law (charter and hybrid schools in Missouri) and defense litigation.
Dana M. Estes is a Staff Attorney for Richard V. Fink, the standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the Western District of Missouri. She has been with the trustee’s office since 2004. She received her undergraduate degree from William Jewell College and her J.D. from Washington University School of Law.
Before becoming a bankruptcy judge on August 31, 2017, Brian T. Fenimore led the bankruptcy team at Lathrop Gage LLP for more than 20 years, representing debtors, creditors, and many other parties in interest. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1988 with a degree in Agricultural Economics, and the University of Michigan Law School in 1990. After graduating from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Arthur B. Federman.
Rachel Foley began her bankruptcy career with the United Auto Workers representing GM and Ford employees in Chapter 13 and 7’s. Rachel was the only bankruptcy attorney for the Missouri auto workers and it was not unusual for her to manage 3 – 4 times the regular attorney caseload at any given time. This provided a vast array of case scenarios, experience and knowledge that Rachel continues to pull from today. Where ever the client was located, the Union ensured the auto worker would have representation, including but not limited to being incarcerated in Leavenworth Federal Prison.
Rachel has been recognized for her constant commitment to the representation of debtors. Rachel is the inaugural winner of the K. Colleen Nunnelly Award by the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and recognized by her peers as being the Best of the Kansas City Bar in the area of bankruptcy. These recognitions are in addition to being named to the Pro Bono Wall of Fame by the Missouri Bar Association.
Joe Jeppson is a consumer bankruptcy attorney who has been representing debtors under Chapter 7 and 13 since 2007. He has been certified as a specialist in consumer bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification and has been owned and operated the Jeppson Law Office since 2011.
Christopher Miles received his B.S. from the Miami University (OH) and his J.D. from Tulane University Law School. As part of his practice, Christopher primarily assists creditors in the enforcement of loan agreements, including obtaining judgments, conducting foreclosure sales and recovering and liquidating personal property collateral. Christopher also has extensive experience in representing residential housing lenders and servicers against wrongful foreclosure and related lawsuits brought by borrowers.
John Reed is a stockholder in Pletz and Reed, P.C., Jefferson City. He has served on the Bankruptcy Panel of Trustees for the Western District of Missouri since 1992. He is a 2012 recipient of the Michael R. Roser Excellence in Bankruptcy Practice Award.
Meg Reuter is associate clinical professor at University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she runs the field placement program. She previously taught at Indiana University, Brooklyn Law School, and New York Law School. She has co-authored books on experiential curriculum design and conducted empirical research on lawyering skill development.
Managing Attorney of the Kansas City office, Sharon Stolte brings more than 25 years of experience in business and commercial litigation. Sharon’s legal practice focuses on bankruptcy. She has represented creditors in all aspects of creditor rights litigation, claim objection litigation, collateral realization, mechanic liens, collections, foreclosures and replevin litigation.
Sarah Tomlinson serves as a law clerk to the Hon. Charles E. Rendlen, III for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the E.D.Mo. She received her J.D. from Saint Louis University. She is the Co-Chair for Special Projects for the ABI Veterans Task Force and a contributing author to the ABI Journal.
