This program will focus on post-pandemic employment issues with a coast to coast perspective. Featuring national employment practitioners from New York to California, this program will provide practical, timely legal considerations as considered in the context of the post-pandemic workplace. Among the issues to be addressed are return to work issues, vaccination issues, remote work conditions, business reimbursements considerations, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence considerations, various legal aspects of managing the workforce in the post-pandemic context.

Norma is a seasoned litigator with more than 15 years of litigation experience. She focuses her practice on product liability, commercial litigation, intellectual property and bankruptcy matters, appearing before state and federal courts in Texas and elsewhere. Norma has defended clients in product liability-related matters involving thousands of plaintiffs. She has also represented clients in complex commercial litigation matters, handling a range of business disputes including breach of contract, covenants not to compete, business dissolutions, and fraud and fraudulent misrepresentation claims. Additionally, she has created strategies for clients seeking bankruptcy protection. Finally, she has defended clients in personal injury and intellectual property matters.
Norma has conducted all phases of litigation, including case strategy, written discovery, eDiscovery, depositions, expert witness preparation, damages, motion practice, trials and appeals. She also has considerable experience in representing clients in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association.
She also has significant experience in managing, directing and coordinating complex litigation, including supervising and directing teams of associates, paralegals, technical analysts and staff. She has also coordinated complex litigation through joint-defense groups and local counsel across jurisdictions. Laura Booth is an accomplished litigator with more than 20 years of experience. Her practice focuses on business and employment litigation. Laura represents corporations in a wide variety of state and federal employment matters including age, race, disability and sex discrimination, retaliation and harassment as well as in wage and hour class action cases. Laura’s experience aiding clients large and small enables her to cater to a diverse client base. Laura is a graduate of the University of San Diego and offices in Orange County.
Joe is part of the General Liability Litigation Practice Group, aiding in the defense of companies and organizations in matters involving product liability and other business interests.
Joe defends clients engaged in employment disputes both in New York State Court and in the Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York. Joe also has representative experience in defending discrimination claims based on gender and national origin discrimination filed with the EEOC as well as claims specifying religious discrimination with the New York State Department of Human Rights. His general liability experience includes defending clients involved in product liability claims, property damage claims and catastrophic injury claims.
Joe earned his law degree magna cum laude from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, where he was a member of the Touro Law Review. Upon graduation, Joe received the Cornelius W. Wickersham Jr. award for his academic performance in constitutional law from the Federal Bar Council.
Bill Martucci, who holds an LL.M. in employment law from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., practices globally in complex class action (employment discrimination and wage & hour) and EEOC litigation. Kristen Page focuses exclusively on representing companies on a national scale, both in federal and state courts, in a wide range of business, commercial and employment matters. She represents clients working in industries as diverse as retail and web services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and medical devices, financial services, technology and telecommunications, design and construction and higher education. She has extensive experience in breach of contract, fiduciary duty, wage and hour, whistleblowing, unfair competition, discrimination and harassment, trade secrets and retaliation disputes, successfully litigating business and employment cases throughout the country for her corporate clients. Kristen is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City and offices in Kansas City.
Yara’s practice focuses on business litigation matters concerning biometric privacy for clients in a variety of industries. Yara drafts motions, manages discovery and prepares witnesses for trial. She has worked on several Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) class actions, including Miller v. Southwest Co.
Yara’s experience includes researching and drafting legal arguments related to different stages of litigation including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment and oppositions to motions for summary judgment. Her involvement in law school in advanced mock trial and moot court have provided her with relevant litigation experience in oral and written advocacy.
Jason Richardson’s litigation experience includes representing a wide variety of clients at all phases of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, trial and appeal. Jason focuses on class action defense and product liability matters, including automotive, product labeling and employment claims. He has successfully defended a variety of institutions against fraud, promissory estoppel, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, breach of contract, wage-and-hour allegations, defamation and unfair business practices allegations, as well as a host of state and federal statutory claims. Jason is a graduate of the University of California – Berkley and offices in San Francisco.
Alan is a litigator who resolves complex disputes for Shook’s business clients. Handling all aspects of litigation, he has particular strength in investigating novel and complex legal issues in order to formulate innovative and cost-effective solutions for clients.
He has experience in toxic tort litigation, as well as business and employment litigation. He has represented clients in motion hearings, arbitration and mediation, at trial, and in negotiation of settlements in both court-ordered and informal settings.
