Barbara Glesner Fines is the Rubey M. Hulen Professor of Law and Dean Emerita of the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law, where she has been a member of the faculty since 1986.  She served as Executive Associate Dean from 2008 to 2016 and as Dean from 2017 to 2023. Glesner Fines received her master of law degree from Yale University and her J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Professor Glesner Fines is an expert on professional ethics, legal education and the professional identity formation of law students. She has authored numerous articles and books on these subjects and is a fellow in the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership. She has created several innovative programs at the School of Law.  She helped to found the UMKC School of Law Child and Family Law Program, which is currently ranked as one of the top four programs of its kind in the United States.  She is also one of the founding faculty members of the School of Law’s Center for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Glesner Fines currently teaches Professional Responsibility, Client Interviewing, and Family Violence.  She also directs the Self-Help Legal Clinic.  Students in the clinic provide instruction, referral, brief advice, and limited scope representation to self-represented litigants in a variety of subject areas.  Students learn technology skills to build self-help resources and community education skills in pro se classes.

John W. Grimm is an accomplished trial lawyer, experienced mediator and former Circuit Judge.  He maintains an active trial practice in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death, insurance coverage and defense, business, real estate and employment litigation.  Mr. Grimm has been annually selected to Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers [among the top 5 percent of lawyers in Missouri and Kansas] since 2010.  He has an AV Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest given. 

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Grimm has served as a mediator in more than 300 cases in the state and federal courts.  He is on the mediation and arbitration panels for the American Arbitration Association and also serves on the ADR Advisory Committee and the Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.  Mr. Grimm has been active in professional associations on the state and national levels.  He has been a member of the Board of Governors for The Missouri Bar since 2010 and currently serves as President of The Missouri Bar.  He was a member of the Young Lawyers Section Council from 1992 to 1996. In the American Bar Association, he was a member of the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Section from 1995 to 1996, and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Trial Judges from 1999 to 2000. He also is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. 

Mr. Grimm received his B.S. in 1984 from Southeast Missouri State University and his J.D. in 1987 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was Topics Editor of the UMKC Law Review.  From 1987 to 1989, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, U.S. District Judge, Eastern District of Missouri. He was a member of The Limbaugh Firm from 1989 to 1993, before leaving to take an appointment as Circuit Judge for the 32nd Judicial Circuit to fill an unexpired term. In 1994, he was elected to a six-year term and was re-elected without opposition to a second six-year term in 2000.

William B. (“Bill”) Putman is a 1991 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law. He also received his B.A. (1980) and M.A. (1982) in Communication from the U of A. Mr. Putman has worked in public service and corporate law, but for most of his career he has been in private practice. He currently owns and operates the Putman Law Office in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where his practice is focused on civil litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts, administrative litigation, and special projects. Mr. Putman has taught courses in communication at the University of Arkansas, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Purdue University. He has also taught legal writing in NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s legal studies program. Since 2017 Mr. Putman has served on the Arkansas Supreme Court’s Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program Committee, of which he is current Vice-Chair. He has written for the Lawyers With Depression website and contributed to The Hilarious World of Depression podcast. Last year he was the subject of profile articles published in The American Lawyer and on the website as part of a yearlong series on mental health and well-being in the legal profession. He frequently speaks to groups of lawyers and law students on depression and related subjects.

Dr. Roberts is the Medical Director and Addiction Psychiatrist for Pavillon. He came to Pavillon with nearly 20 years’ experience serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there, he was the attending psychiatrist for the inpatient dual diagnosis inpatient unit and was the director of the clinical outpatient division for the Center for Drugs and Alcohol Program.

He received his Doctor Of Medicine from Louisiana State University and completed his psychiatric residency as well as fellowships in substance use and anxiety disorders at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Roberts is board certified in psychiatry and has lectured throughout the Southeast on substance use and psychiatric disorders. He is also an Assistant Professor at USC School of Medicine at Greenville Health System.

Roger is a part-time clinician at the Missouri Lawyers' Assistance Program. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Graduate School of Education, with an emphasis in mental health counseling. Roger came to The Missouri Bar in March 2019.  Prior to that he served 31 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, retiring as a captain in 2018.  In his role as a trooper Roger was involved in the drug interdiction and intoxicated driver prevention programs. He is the current Board President of the Jefferson City Council for Drug Free Youth. Roger operated a part-time private practice as a counselor from 2010 to 2019 and specializes in depression/anxiety and substance use disorders. In his spare time Roger is the Head Boy’s Tennis Coach at Capital City High School in Jefferson City.
