Bunn is a retired attorney of almost 40 years, and founder of The Mindful Law Coaching & Consulting Group, which was created to coach lawyers and consult law firms about the benefits of mindfulness and meditation, as important components of a balanced approach to well-being. Jimmy Fendelman has been a trial attorney for over twenty-five years. He speaks regularly on the topics of stress management and communications skills for teens, graduate students, and adults. He is known for his up-beat, high energy style.
John Fuller serves as the Human Development and Family Science Specialist, Human and Environmental Sciences Extension, at the University of Missouri Extension. He is certified to teach Q.P.R. Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention, Communicating with Farmers Under Stress, Weathering the Storm in Agriculture: How to Cultivate a Productive Mindset, Mental Health First Aid and Taking Care of You. Fuller has an Associate in Arts and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Three Rivers Community College and Central Methodist University and Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Missouri Columbia.
Karen Funkenbusch is the statewide director for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, United States Department of Agriculture, North Central Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Center in Missouri at the University of Missouri and is a committee member on the Governor’s U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (VA/SAMHSA) Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans and their Families. Karen is certified to teach Q.P.R. Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention, Communicating with Farmers Under Stress and Weathering the Storm in Agriculture: How to Cultivate a Productive Mindset. Funkenbusch has a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Truman State University.
John W. Grimm is an accomplished trial lawyer, experienced mediator and former Circuit Judge. He maintains an active trial practice in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death, insurance coverage and defense, business, real estate and employment litigation. Mr. Grimm has been annually selected to Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers [among the top 5 percent of lawyers in Missouri and Kansas] since 2010. He has an AV Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest given.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Grimm has served as a mediator in more than 300 cases in the state and federal courts. He is on the mediation and arbitration panels for the American Arbitration Association and also serves on the ADR Advisory Committee and the Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Mr. Grimm has been active in professional associations on the state and national levels. He has been a member of the Board of Governors for The Missouri Bar since 2010 and currently serves as President of The Missouri Bar. He was a member of the Young Lawyers Section Council from 1992 to 1996. In the American Bar Association, he was a member of the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Section from 1995 to 1996, and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Trial Judges from 1999 to 2000. He also is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Mr. Grimm received his B.S. in 1984 from Southeast Missouri State University and his J.D. in 1987 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was Topics Editor of the UMKC Law Review. From 1987 to 1989, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, U.S. District Judge, Eastern District of Missouri. He was a member of The Limbaugh Firm from 1989 to 1993, before leaving to take an appointment as Circuit Judge for the 32nd Judicial Circuit to fill an unexpired term. In 1994, he was elected to a six-year term and was re-elected without opposition to a second six-year term in 2000.
William B. (“Bill”) Putman is a 1991 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law. He also received his B.A. (1980) and M.A. (1982) in Communication from the U of A. Mr. Putman has worked in public service and corporate law, but for most of his career he has been in private practice. He currently owns and operates the Putman Law Office in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where his practice is focused on civil litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts, administrative litigation, and special projects. Mr. Putman has taught courses in communication at the University of Arkansas, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Purdue University. He has also taught legal writing in NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s legal studies program. Since 2017 Mr. Putman has served on the Arkansas Supreme Court’s Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program Committee, of which he is current Vice-Chair. He has written for the Lawyers With Depression website and contributed to The Hilarious World of Depression podcast. Last year he was the subject of profile articles published in The American Lawyer and on the law.com website as part of a yearlong series on mental health and well-being in the legal profession. He frequently speaks to groups of lawyers and law students on depression and related subjects.
Dr. Roberts is the Medical Director and Addiction Psychiatrist for Pavillon. He came to Pavillon with nearly 20 years’ experience serving as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there, he was the attending psychiatrist for the inpatient dual diagnosis inpatient unit and was the director of the clinical outpatient division for the Center for Drugs and Alcohol Program.
He received his Doctor Of Medicine from Louisiana State University and completed his psychiatric residency as well as fellowships in substance use and anxiety disorders at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Roberts is board certified in psychiatry and has lectured throughout the Southeast on substance use and psychiatric disorders. He is also an Assistant Professor at USC School of Medicine at Greenville Health System.
Joni Ross Harper is an Associate Extension Professional, County Engagement Specialist in Agriculture and Environment, at the University of Missouri Extension. Joni is certified to teach Q.P.R. Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention, Communicating with Farmers Under Stress and Weathering the Storm in Agriculture: How to Cultivate a Productive Mindset.
Joni has a Bachelor of Science in Crop Management and Master of Science in Crop, Soil & Environmental Science from the University of Arkansas.
Roger is a part-time clinician at the Missouri Lawyers' Assistance Program. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Graduate School of Education, with an emphasis in mental health counseling. Roger came to The Missouri Bar in March 2019. Prior to that he served 31 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, retiring as a captain in 2018. In his role as a trooper Roger was involved in the drug interdiction and intoxicated driver prevention programs. He is the current Board President of the Jefferson City Council for Drug Free Youth. Roger operated a part-time private practice as a counselor from 2010 to 2019 and specializes in depression/anxiety and substance use disorders. In his spare time Roger is the Head Boy’s Tennis Coach at Capital City High School in Jefferson City.
