Julie Anderson graduated from William Jewell College, magna cum laude, in 2000 and the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School in 2004. She is admitted to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Missouri, the United States District Court of Kansas, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Kansas and Missouri.
Anderson is a former judicial law clerk and served as an assistant to United States Senator Chuck Hagel in Washington D.C. She was also a summer associate to Kenneth Feinberg, the Special Master of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund in New York, NY.
In 2010, she was chosen as one of Missouri’s "Up and Coming" young attorneys. In 2013 – 2021 she was named a Thompson Reuters “Super Lawyer” and in 2015 and 2016 as one of Kansas City Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar.” Anderson is the former mayoral appointed Chairwoman on the Land Bank of Kansas City, Missouri and the current Executive Director of Mid-America Crime Free, Inc., an organization collaborating with regional police departments to encourage and enforce crime free housing. Her previous activities in the Bar include being a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), and as a member of both the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and the Creditor Rights Asset Protection organization. Since 1998, Mark Bassingthwaighte, Esq. has been a Risk Manager with ALPS, the nation’s largest direct writer of lawyers’ malpractice insurance. Mr. Bassingthwaighte has conducted over 1200 law firm risk management assessment visits, presented over 550 CLEs throughout the United States, and written extensively on risk management, ethics, and technology.
Tom Bender has been a trial lawyer in Kansas City for over 40 years, practicing in large, mid-size and small firms, and has handled all shapes and sizes of cases in state and federal courts, including class actions. He has been a mediator for over 20 years.

Melinda J. Bentley serves as Legal Ethics Counsel in Missouri where she provides oral and written informal advisory opinions to attorneys on issues related to the Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct. In that position, she also serves as administrator and counsel to the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Missouri. She began serving in that position in 2012. Prior to that she worked for the Illinois State Bar Association as Assistant Counsel from 2001-03, First Assistant Counsel from 2003-11, and Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs from 2009-11. She is a frequent speaker and author on professional responsibility matters. Ms. Bentley currently serves as a Co-Chair of the Planning Committee for the American Bar Association (ABA) Center for Professional Responsibility’s National Conference on Professional Responsibility, and is a member of the ABA Professionalism Committee, the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility Coordinating Council, the Planning Committee for The Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Conference, and the National Organization of Bar Counsel’s Committees on Amicus, Website, and Program. She was a board member and officer of the National Organization of Bar Counsel from 2015-2020, including a term as President from 2018-2019, and formerly served on the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility (2020-2023), Editorial Board of the ABA/BNA Lawyers’ Manual on Professional Conduct as a member (2015-2016) and Chair (2016-2018), as well as a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility Coordinating Council (2016-2018). Janet Bezler is a graduate of the University of Missouri Law School. She has practiced all areas of family law since 1991. Currently, in addition to her family law practice, Janet is a court approved mediator and is a contract attorney with Boone County representing indigent parents in Juvenile Court.
Andrew is Chair of the firm’s Digital Currency & Blockchain Technology Practice Group. He represents businesses and investors in litigation related to digital assets and advises clients on regulatory and compliance issues.
Andrew is also an experienced commercial litigator. He has successfully tried cases to resolution in state and federal court, in arbitration, and before administrative commissions.

Jim Brady has been practicing law for 10 years in Missouri courts. In addition to providing clients personal service and strong advocacy, Jim is a Kansas City native, former Marine and father of two. He is also on the board of the Blue River Watershed Association.
After receiving his bachelor’s from Loyola University, Jim earned his law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. After graduation, Jim opened his own practice dedicated to personal injury and criminal defense. It was during this time that he found his talent for trial advocacy.
Meagan Zimmer Breeze is a partner at Kramer, Hand, Buchholz & Partney in Jefferson County. Annette Choti, Esq. has been an attorney and a member of the Missouri Bar for 23 years. She is the Founder/Owner of Law Quill, a full-service legal digital marketing agency. Annette hosts the podcast, Legal Marketing Lounge and wrote the bestselling book Click Magnet: The Ultimate Digital Marketing Guide For Law Firms.
After 20 years of litigating and mediating business and employment matters, as well as multi-party disputes, including class actions, Virginia Stevens Crimmins (“Ginnie”) expanded her practice to provide dispute resolution services. Ginnie is an approved mediator for various courts, and is also a member of AAA’s National Panel of Arbitrators, as well as a member of the AAA’s Employment Panel of Arbitrators.
As a former law clerk of both a trial judge and an appellate judge, Brennan spent countless hours in the courtroom, which have given him a unique understanding of trial practice. Joseph (Joe) A. DeWoskin is a solo practitioner in Kansas City, Kansas. He practices primarily in the area of family law, military law, and landlord/tenant. Claude E. Ducloux, is an attorney licensed in Texas, Colorado and California who speaks nationally on legal ethics, law office management, and trial-related topics. Richard B. Hicks has been practicing law since 1995. As a litigator, Richard has tried over 100 cases before juries prosecuting crimes ranging from driving offenses to capital murder. Jim Layton joined Tueth Keeney after 22 years with the Missouri Attorney General's Office. As Solicitor General, Jim handled appeals, constitutional litigation – and writs. He has argued nearly 100 appeals in the Missouri Supreme Court and four in the U.S. Supreme Court. He now assists both private clients and public entities in trial and appellate courts.
David Mann has taught story construction and presentation to lawyers nationwide for over a decade. He has taught at Loyola School of Law in Chicago since 2012, and he has created innovative programs for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).
As a case story consultant, David has helped lawyers find, build, and tell a persuasive case story in the following matters: securities fraud, personal injury, medical malpractice, sexual assault, defamation, and wrongful termination. He has served as consultant on both plaintiff’s and defense sides. In addition to opening statements, David has also guided the writing of motions and demand letters.
In 2012, David created a unique, specialized course for Loyola School of Law in Chicago that is focused expressly on story construction and presentation for court. The two-credit course is two full days in length, and David has taught it over 30 times. He has also created a similar program for NITA that has been offered as both a live course and an online program.
As a speaker, David has presented his full-day, six-hour CLE program in 14 states. The program provides lawyers with the tools they need to construct persuasive case stories, create concise opening statements, and to present them with lasting impact. David has also been the keynote speaker for state bar conferences nationwide, and he has presented shorter versions of his program in Canada and Northern Ireland.

Lindsay grew up in Kansas City and attended The University of Kansas where she received a degree in Spanish, Latin American Studies, and History. Today she lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her family.
Tim McCurdy is Of Counsel at the firm. Tim grew up on a farm in Southwest Iowa. After obtaining his law degree from the University of Notre Dame, Tim moved to St. Louis to “watch a few Cardinals games” before returning to Iowa. Tim met his now wife and his plans quickly changed – Tim has called St. Louis home for more than twenty years.
Throughout Tim’s legal career, he has helped clients protect their rights in lawsuits throughout the country. After watching a loved one suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, Tim developed a passion for elder law. Tim’s practice now combines his more than twenty years of litigation experience with an in-depth knowledge of estate planning and probate.
Tim devotes his practice to helping families navigate disputes involving estate plans and probate administration. Tim’s trusts and estates litigation practice includes trust and will contests, the removal of fiduciaries, demands for accountings, and contested guardianships. Tim is also frequently appointed by probate judges to represent individuals facing guardianship petitions, and as a court-appointed fiduciary.

Tim Monsees is a shareholder and director with the firm Monsees & Mayer, P.C. He graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1981. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, and Colorado. Mr. Monsees restricts his practice to the representation of injured parties in litigation of product liability, particularly cases related to defective firearms and hunting tree stands. Mr. Monsees’ firm has received national recognition for litigation related to injuries from defective sporting equipment and from defective firearms. Samantha Orlowski is a managing partner of Sparks Law Firm. Sam has focused her practice primarily on Plaintiff's personal injury cases and consumer protection since graduating from St. Louis University School of Law.

Sam Phillips is Deputy Chief Counsel for the Missouri Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel. Sam has served on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Bar Counsel and was that Board’s liaison to the ABA’s Lawyer Competence Committee.
In addition to attorney discipline and private practice, he has served as Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and been the Executive Trust Officer for a regional bank.
He also chaired The Missouri Bar’s Law Practice Management Committee.
Scott Pierson is an accomplished criminal defense attorney and partner at Twibell Pierson Criminal Law in Springfield, Missouri. He works closely with non-profits, including SMBA's Clean Slate Clinic, in offering expungement services for indigent clients.
Commissioner Philip Prewitt was born and raised in Moberly. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1989 with a degree in Political Science and in 1992 with his law degree. At his law school graduation he was honored to be inducted into The Order of Barristers, a national honor society for law students who demonstrate exceptional skill in trial advocacy.
He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves in 1989 after receiving his undergraduate degree. After achieving his law degree, he graduated from the US Army’s Armor school (1993) and Transportation school (1996). He was commissioned into the JAG Corps in 2000 and was active duty as a JAG in 2003 in support of the war in Iraq. He was honorably discharged in 2007 with the rank of Major.
Commissioner Prewitt worked as a trial lawyer in Jefferson City from 1993 to 1996 with Andereck, Evans, Milne, Peace, & Baumhoer. In 1996 he moved to Weiss & Associates, P.C. in St. Louis. In 1998 he started his own law firm in St. Louis focusing on business, real estate, and collection cases. In 2003, after returning from active duty military service, he moved his law firm to Macon, where he continued his private legal work until 2010. During part of that time he was also the City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the cities of Bevier and Atlanta. In 2010 and again in 2014 he was elected as the Associate Circuit Judge of Macon County.
In 2008, Commissioner Prewitt was appointed by Governor Matt Blunt as a Commissioner on the Missouri Veterans Commission. He was appointed by Governor Parson to the Administrative Hearing Commission in 2019.
Jim Putnam is a partner at the Kansas City based firm of McCausland Barrett & Bartalos and is in charge of the firm's Columbia office. He joined MBB in June 2013 after practicing in Jefferson City and Central Illinois. He has been practicing primarily in the area of insurance defense litigation since 2004. He has represented insureds for more than 18 insurance companies in a wide range of cases including personal injury automobile accidents, trucking accidents, premises cases, subrogation matters, wrongful death suits, construction accidents, construction defects, inverse condemnation, liability cases against municipalities and school districts. He has been both lead or co-counsel on numerous jury trials.
Jim graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2004. Prior to law school, Jim graduated from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, where he was a four year student athlete in baseball and basketball and an Academic All-American in both sports. He is licensed in state and federal Courts in Missouri, Illinois and pending in Iowa.
David W. Ransin, founder of Ransin Injury Law, in Springfield, Missouri, as a trial lawyer since 1982, exclusively represents people and their families in catastrophic injury and death litigation after car, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian and tractor trailer crashes including many jury trials, appeals, and the Supreme Court of Missouri.
Christopher E. Roberts is a partner at Butsch Roberts & Associates LLC in St. Louis. Mr. Roberts’s practice is focused on representing consumers in class action cases. His cases have resulted in tens of millions of dollars being paid to consumers and millions of dollars of debt being eliminated for consumers. Mr. Roberts has authored chapters in multiple books published by the American Bar Association about class actions and has written numerous articles for the ABA about current developments in the world of class actions and consumer law.
Camille focuses on employment litigation, including defending against state and federal claims. Her experience includes defending suits brought by private parties and by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has extensive trial experience, having litigated numerous labor and employment matters at trial and in arbitration. In addition, she has handled cases involving discrimination claims related to race, age, disability and sex; sexual harassment; and retaliatory discharge.
Camille works with a wide range of employers to provide timely and practical counseling to address both day-to-day and unique challenges in the workplace. She offers creative “out of the box” solutions to her clients to address the ever-changing employment landscape. She counsels clients on the application of existing laws and regulations and anticipates the possible impact of new laws and regulations on clients’ employment practices.
While attending law school, Camille served as a legal intern with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Solicitor, where she assisted with investigating and litigating OSHA, MSHA and FLSA claims. Prior to joining private practice, Camille served as law clerk to Judge Jack R. Grate, circuit judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court.
Camille received her B.A. from Avila University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She listens, advises, and walks these challenging roads with her clients while bringing together local, statewide and federal resources all to respond most effectively to her clients’ needs.
Samantha began her legal career upon graduation from Boston College School of Law. Her professional work experience includes positions with the Essex County District Attorney, Grant Schwartz & Brown, Banknorth Group, Broward County Legal Aid, National Association of Insurance Commissioners, & the Law Offices of Craig Reeves. During the latter portion of this time, Samantha also completed an LLM from the University of Missouri. The mission of SNA is support, education, funding, and advocacy for those with special needs and other developmental disabilities. SNA’s mission: to create a community where those in need can find others who know how to help.
Wes Shumate is a partner with Davis, Bethune & Jones, L.L.C. in Kansas City. His practice includes the representation of injured people and their families in a wide variety of civil cases, including auto collisions, trucking collisions, railroad injury and death cases, premises liability, dram shop liability and cases involving security issues and third party criminal attacks. He received his B.S. from Murray State University and his J.D. from the University of Missouri- Kansas City.

Todd Werts’ practice primarily involves representing individuals, and groups of individuals, in claims filed in state and federal courts. J.C. Weyand is the longtime State's Attorney & Chief Juvenile Officer for the 10th Judicial Circuit, handling all child abuse / neglect and juvenile cases for Marion, Ralls, and Monroe Counties. Weyand is also Professor at Hannibal-LaGrange University. He has been a featured presenter at MOSOLO every year since 2019.
Lindsey Wyatt is a founding member of Kentner Wyatt, LLC. She became licensed to practice law in Missouri in 2008 and has represented 1,500+ debtors in both Kansas and Missouri. Commissioner Gretchen Yancey was appointed in Family Court Commissioner in the 13th Judicial Circuit in 2024 and primarily presides over dissolutions, motions to modify, and paternity cases.
