Bob Bailey is a 1968 graduate of Marist College and a 1979 graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law. After graduation, he commenced his career with the University of Missouri School of Law. In 1983, Bailey became the City of Columbia’s Municipal Judge and served for four years. In 1987, Bailey returned full time to the law school as the Assistant Dean and Senior Fellow. Bob is a Vice President of the National Academy of Arbitrators and has an active labor and sports arbitration practice. Bailey is also a Commissioner for the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniformed State Laws (NCCUSL) and on the Uniform Athlete Agent Act and the Veterans Court Act drafting committees. He is actively involved in campus committee work and chairs the mid-month Institutional Review Board (IRB). Bailey has a long history of community services and presently chairs the Boone County Family Resources, an agency providing services to 1,300 developmentally disabled citizens. He has also chaired the Family Health Center, the Central Missouri Food Bank, and the Regional Aids Inter-Faith Network (RAIN). He served as the Director the Law School’s nationally renowned Center for Dispute Resolution from 2005-2013. Bailey teaches Arbitration, a Lawyering Seminar, a first year Lawyering class, and a Freshman Interest Group (FIG). Bob is married to Sharon, and they have two daughters and four grandchildren.
Jack Bangert has successfully mediated hundreds of cases over the past 10 years. He has more than 40-years of experience in commercial and civil litigation. He is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Only 32 attorneys in Missouri are recognized as having met the stringent requirements for the NADN. Jack is one of only four NADN members in Missouri to have been conferred with “Diplomate” status.
Jack is an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. He has taught at over 20 trial academies including the Missouri Bar Trial Academy, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers Trial Academy, the Missouri Judicial Trial College and the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy.

Kyle is an employment attorney with Carter Law Firm, advocating for workers and their rights. Prior to joining the firm, Kyle was primarily involved in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation.
Kyle grew up in Southern Illinois and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduation, he was the Director of Ticket Operations for an independent minor league baseball team. He worked for several larger St. Louis plaintiffs’ firms before joining Carter Law Firm. Judge Jon Beetem is the Division I Circuit Judge for the 19th Judicial Circuit which is Cole County. He maintains a general docket of civil and criminal cases. He also has primary responsibility for the juvenile docket, including both abuse and neglect cases as well as delinquency.
Judge Beetem is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy as well as the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Prior to becoming a judge, he maintained a general law practice focusing on litigation in the areas of administrative, probate and juvenile law.
Melinda J. Bentley serves as Legal Ethics Counsel in Missouri where she provides oral and written informal advisory opinions to attorneys on issues related to the Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct. In that position, she also serves as administrator and counsel to the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Missouri. She began serving in that position in 2012. Prior to that she worked for the Illinois State Bar Association as Assistant Counsel from 2001-03, First Assistant Counsel from 2003-11, and Assistant Director of Legislative Affairs from 2009-11. She is a frequent speaker and author on professional responsibility matters. Ms. Bentley currently serves as a member of the Planning Committee for the American Bar Association (ABA) Center for Professional Responsibility’s National Conference on Professional Responsibility, the Planning Committee for The Missouri Bar Solo and Small Firm Conference, The Missouri Bar’s Special Committee on Remote Public Access to Case.net, and the National Organization of Bar Counsel’s Committees on Amicus, Website, Program, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She was a board member and officer of the National Organization of Bar Counsel from 2015-2020, including a term as President from 2018-2019, and formerly served on the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility (2020-2023), Editorial Board of the ABA/BNA Lawyers’ Manual on Professional Conduct as a member (2015-2016) and Chair (2016-2018), as well as a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility Coordinating Council (2016-2018). Anne Chambers, LCSW serves as the Director of the Missouri Lawyers’ Assistance Program. She has significant experience working with people to address mental health and substance concerns.
Ms. Chambers has served as past president of the National Organization of Forensic Social Work, past chair of the National Association of Social Workers Legal Defense Fund Service Board, and past chair of the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs Senior Lawyers Committee.
Ms. Chambers received her Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in 1990. She has been licensed in clinical social work in Missouri since 1992. She lives with her family in Columbia.
Julia Chaney-Faughn is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, Law School and Missouri Western State University. She is a partner with Cruse Chaney-Faughn, P.C. with its principal office located in Hannibal, Missouri, and is licensed in Missouri and Illinois. She has volunteered with Avenues, First Steps RICC, her local 4-H club, church and other community organizations. In her free time she gardens, plays piano, organ and clarinet and raises her two children with her husband Chris. She enjoys advocating for those with special needs including her son Isaac who is on the autism spectrum.
Morry S. Cole practices primarily in the areas of wrongful death, aviation, products liability, professional negligence, and corporate litigation at Gray, Ritter and Graham in St. Louis. He is a former President of the Missouri Bar (2017-2018) and is an adjunct law professor at Washington University.
Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Philosophy from Missouri State University with honors in 2007. During Erin’s course of studies, she emphasized International Affairs and served as a student ambassador for the University in Dailian and Zhengzhou, China.
Upon graduating from Missouri State, Erin attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2010. While at the UMKC Law School, Erin received the school’s International, Comparative, and Foreign Law Area of Emphasis after successfully completing courses in International and EU Law at the University of Vienna, Austria, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Corvinus Egyetem in Budapest, Hungary. While at UMKC, Erin participated in the Law School's Guardian ad Litem clinic, representing children in domestic violence dockets in the 16th Judicial Circuit.
Erin is a member of The Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association including the KCMBA Domestic Law Committee, the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, and is a board member on the Juvenile Law Committee. Erin is admitted to practice in the Federal Western District Court of Missouri and also a Guardian ad Litem.
As a former law clerk of both a trial judge and an appellate judge, Brennan spent countless hours in the courtroom, which have given him a unique understanding of both trial practice and the appellate process. Brennan now utilizes this knowledge in his work as an attorney at Langdon and Emison, where he practices law in a variety of areas such as product liability, premises liability, and dram shop liability.
Brennan has received recognition for being a Top 10 Under 40 Attorney for Missouri by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (2017), a Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers for Missouri by the National Trial Lawyers (2017, 2019, 2020), Premier Lawyers of America (2019), and a Rising Star by Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers (2015-2018). Hon. Margaret Donnelly was appointed circuit judge in August, 2016, by Gov. Jeremiah W. "Jay" Nixon. She was a St. Louis County Family Court commissioner from 2013 until her appointment as circuit judge.
Judge Donnelly holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Social Work degrees from Saint Louis University and graduated cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1988. From 1988 to 2009, she was engaged in the private practice of law. She served in the Missouri Legislature as a state representative for District 73 from 2003 to 2009 and was the Director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services from 2009 to 2012.
Judge Donnelly has been honored for service by the Missouri Judicial Conference and Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. She received the Women's Justice Citizenship Award, St. Louis Children's Hospital Advocate of the Year award, and Paraquad Disability Rights Legislative Leadership Award. She is a member of the Missouri Bar, St. Louis County Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Women Lawyers' Association and Mound City Bar Association.

Claude E. Ducloux, is an attorney licensed in Texas, Colorado and California who speaks nationally on legal ethics, law office management, and trial-related topics. In 2011, he won the highest statewide award from the State Bar of Texas for lifetime contribution to CLE and has been invited to speak in more than 500 programs in since January 1, 2016. Claude has served as course director and creator of numerous CLE institutes and advanced courses.
Mr. Ducloux has a long legacy of bar service, including being President of the Austin Bar Association, and serving as Chair of almost every major bar-related entity, as well as the Texas Bar Foundation. He is a board-certified civil trial and appellate attorney in Texas.
John M. Eccher is a criminal defense and civil plaintiff trial attorney, with the majorities of his criminal practice in the area of DWI defense and his civil practice in the areas of employment and civil rights litigation.
Susan K. Eckles is the Managing Attorney of Missouri Protection & Advocacy Services (“Mo P&A”), where she oversees ten staff attorneys statewide. Mo P&A, part of the National Disability Rights Network, is the state-designated, federally mandated and funded, non-profit protection and advocacy system for people with disabilities in the State of Missouri. Areas of practice include guardianship, benefits appeals, education, ADA and Section 504 issues, Olmstead issues, supported decision making, and housing and employment discrimination.
A native Nebraskan, Susan graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985 with a dual degree in history and political science. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Susan spent 12 years with the Missouri State Public Defender in appellate and trial practice in St. Louis, followed by 3 years in private civil appellate and litigation practice, before joining Mo P&A as Managing Attorney in July 2007.
Susan’s work with Mo P&A includes serving as Mo P&A's representative on the Missouri DD Council since 2008, where she serves on the Home and Community Living, and Employment and Transportation Committees; co-developing the 2008-2010 statewide guardianship demonstration project with the DD Council and UCEDD, to identify best practices and systemic guardianship issues throughout the state; and co-developing and serving on the MO WINGS guardianship reform task force, which developed proposed legislation resulting in the 2018 updates to the state guardianship code. Susan continues to be involved with MO WINGS, as well as a Supported Decision Making statewide consortium. As of 2020, Susan also serves on several different workgroups addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her spare time, Susan serves on the Advisory Board for Miracle Horse Rescue & Sanctuary, gardens, works on animal welfare and rescue issues, and participates in civic engagement.
Lenné Eidson Espenschied has earned her status as one of the Top 3 contract drafting speakers in the country by continually striving for excellence and providing innovative, practical, skills-based training for transactional lawyers. She practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia for 25 years, focusing on corporate and transactional representation of technology-based businesses. Ms. Espenschied is a contributing faculty member for Thomson/Reuter’s West Legal Ed Center. She is the author of two books published by the American Bar Association: Contract Drafting: Powerful Prose in Transactional Practice (ABA Fundamentals, 3rd Ed. 2019) and The Grammar and Writing Handbook for Lawyers (ABA Fundamentals, 2011). After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law magna cum laude, Ms. Espenschied began her legal practice at the firm now known as Eversheds Sutherland; she also served as Senior Counsel in the legal department of Bank of America before eventually opening her own law office. As a law professor, Ms. Espenschied taught commercial law, contracts, and contract drafting. Her passion is helping lawyers acquire the skills they need to be successful in transactional practice.
Judge Fowler graduated from U.M.K.C. School of Law in 1985. She started her legal career with the Municipal Court Defense Unit of Legal Aid of Western Missouri for two years, then worked as an associate for various general practice law firms until 1990 when she started her own solo practice. She practiced Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury and Social Security Disability until 2000 when she was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge for the Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Megan Galicia is an immigration attorney whose practice focuses on family and humanitarian petitions and removal (deportation) defense. Since 2017, she has been an associate attorney at Martinez Immigration Law LLC in Kansas City, MO. Megan is a former teacher who lived and taught in Texas and Mexico before returning to her hometown of Kansas City to fulfill her dream of becoming an immigration lawyer. She graduated with honors from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2016 and is a former editor of the UMKC Law Review. While in law school, Megan served as a judicial intern at the Kansas City Immigration Court. Megan is fluent in Spanish and is a frequent volunteer with the pro bono legal project at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. Megan helped launch a Kansas City organization that trains lawyers to provide free legal representation to detained immigrants in immigration court bond proceedings. A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Megan was awarded an AILA Presidential Commendation in 2019 for exemplary service to the organization. Mr. Jason Iezzi is an associate attorney at Boyd, Kenter, Thomas & Parrish, LLC, practicing in the areas of workers' compensation and personal injury. He first joined the firm in 2011 as a law clerk. Attorney Andrea Martinez’s work covers most aspects of immigration law, from family-based visas and naturalization to immigration court removal defense and humanitarian visas. Prior to entering private practice, Attorney Andrea Martinez served as a federal judicial law clerk to the Honorable Eric G. Bruggink at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C. Andrea also worked for nine months in Guatemala assisting in the prosecution of child sex offenders with non-profit organization International Justice Mission. During law school Andrea served as a summer law clerk to six immigration judges at the Arlington, Virginia Immigration Court. Andrea is fluent in Spanish.

Before attending law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Lindsay taught for three years and worked as a staff member for two years with Teach for America. Due to her experience with Teach for America and her love and understanding for children, Lindsay is frequently appointed as a Guardian ad Litem, someone who will advocate for the best interest of a child in court.
Lindsay grew up in Kansas City and attended The University of Kansas where she received a degree in Spanish, Latin American Studies, and History. Today she lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her family.
Tim McCurdy is Of Counsel at the firm. Tim grew up on a farm in Southwest Iowa. After obtaining his law degree from the University of Notre Dame, Tim moved to St. Louis to “watch a few Cardinals games” before returning to Iowa. Tim met his now wife and his plans quickly changed – Tim has called St. Louis home for more than twenty years.
Throughout Tim’s legal career, he has helped clients protect their rights in lawsuits throughout the country. After watching a loved one suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, Tim developed a passion for elder law. Tim’s practice now combines his more than twenty years of litigation experience with an in-depth knowledge of estate planning and probate.
Tim devotes his practice to helping families navigate disputes involving estate plans and probate administration. Tim’s trusts and estates litigation practice includes trust and will contests, the removal of fiduciaries, demands for accountings, and contested guardianships. Tim is also frequently appointed by probate judges to represent individuals facing guardianship petitions, and as a court-appointed fiduciary.
Tim also helps families protect their life savings while ensuring access to the health care they need through Medicaid and special needs planning. Tim’s elder law practice also includes helping families develop estate plans to avoid probate and to protect against future challenges to their estate plan.

Martin M. (“Marty”) Meyers tried his first jury trial exactly forty years ago and many trials later, he is still at it. He is board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, holds the rank of Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates and is a fellow of the American College of Lawyers. Joel is a seasoned litigator and regular speaker to attorneys and non-attorneys alike. He currently is in private practice in Kansas City, specializing in constitutional litigation, campaign finance, sports law and appellate advocacy. He previously served as senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom at its Kansas City Regional Service Center. While at ADF, he was counsel for the Town of Greece, New York in the landmark case Galloway v. Greece. Joel argued the case before the United States District Court for the Western District of New York and the Second Circuit, and was part of the legal team presenting the case to the U.S. Supreme Court where they successfully defended the Town against a challenge to its practice of opening its sessions with an invocation.
Oster regularly litigates First Amendment issues. As lead counsel in Freedom from Religion Foundation v. Obama, Oster skillfully defended the constitutionality of the National Day of Prayer against an Establishment Clause challenge. Before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit, he successfully defended the right of an organization to have a pro-life specialty license plate in Missouri in Roach v. Stouffer. In Wigg v. Sioux Falls School District, he successful represented an elementary school teacher in obtaining equal access to school facilities after contract time after she was denied that right based on the viewpoint of her speech. In addition, Oster has defended various churches based on the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, against discriminatory zoning codes and regulations. Oster also has defended various individuals, corporations, and political committees against discriminatory and unconstitutional campaign finance regulations.

Alan Pratzel was appointed as the Chief Disciplinary Counsel by the Supreme Court of Missouri in April 2007. In that position, Mr. Pratzel oversees the system that receives, investigates and litigates ethics complaints against lawyers in Missouri. He began working for the attorney discipline system in 1985, serving as a Special Representative in the City of St. Louis. Prior to becoming Chief Disciplinary Counsel, Mr. Pratzel was in private practice for 30 years in St. Louis, engaging in various types of litigation. He is also an adjunct professor of Professional Responsibility at the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia and at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
David W. Ransin, founder of Ransin Injury Law, in Springfield, Missouri, as a trial lawyer since 1982, exclusively represents people and their families in catastrophic injury and death litigation after car, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian and tractor trailer crashes including many jury trials, appeals, and the Supreme Court of Missouri.
Craig D. Ritchie has practiced law for over 26 years. His practice is limited almost exclusively to family law matters. He graduated in 1989 from the University of Missouri Law School. In addition to his family law practice, Mr. Ritchie has taught Domestic Relations in the legal studies program at Missouri Western State College. Sara Rittman was an Assistant Attorney General from 2019-2022. She served on the office's Professional Responsibility Committee as well as serving in leadership roles in the Governmental Affairs and Litigation Divisions. She practiced legal ethics and attorney discipline law from 1993-2019, including private practice, as Missouri's first Legal Ethics Counsel, and at OCDC. She was also previously an AAG from 1981-1993. She received her JD from UMKC in 1981.
Christopher E. Roberts is a partner at Butsch Roberts & Associates LLC in St. Louis. Mr. Roberts’s practice is focused on representing consumers in class action cases. His cases have resulted in tens of millions of dollars being paid to consumers and millions of dollars of debt being eliminated for consumers. Hon. Leslie Schneider, Associate Circuit Judge, Division X, was elected to the court in 2006 and re-elected in 2010 and 2014. Division X handles all family law matters including juvenile, dissolution of marriage, adult abuse dockets. Judge Schneider serves as the administrative judge of the Family Court. Judge Schneider is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law, with an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
Prior to election to the court, Judge Schneider was in private practice in Columbia with the law firm of Harper, Evans, Schneider and Netemeyer. Judge Schneider was previously Municipal Judge for the City of Columbia and an Assistant Attorney General. Judge Schneider is a founding member of the Elwood Thomas Inn of Court. She is a member of the Committee on Access to Family Courts and Family Court Committee. She has been an adjunct faculty the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law where she teaches family law. Judge Schneider's husband Tom is a practicing attorney in Columbia. Laurel Stevenson is the Director of the Mediation and Assessment Program (MAP) for the United States District Court, Western District of Missouri. She oversees approximately 1,000 civil cases annually and serves as a mediator and facilitator. Laurel has conducted hundreds of mediations, including more than 300 via Zoom. Her ADR work includes class actions, insurance, FLSA, employment, wrongful death, transportation, medical malpractice, and commercial disputes. Several resolutions have resulted in institutional policy changes. She also co-chairs the ABA’s Court ADR Committee within the DR Section and is the Editor of The Resolver, a publication of the FBA’s ADR Section.
Prior to her current position, Laurel tried more than eighty jury trials to verdict, served as appellate counsel, was lead trial counsel in numerous bench trials, and taught trial practice in Missouri and Texas. She served more than a decade as a Facilitator for the Missouri Bar Complaint Resolution Program and the Fee Dispute Resolution Program. She also served as a mediator, arbitrator, and facilitator during her last twelve years in private practice.
Prior to joining Edelman & Thompson, Chad served as an attorney in the civil litigation unit for the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s Legal Department for over ten years. During his time with the City, Chad gained invaluable experience litigating personal injury, motor vehicle collision, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, and premises liability cases. He has practiced in both state and federal courts, the Missouri Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Mike grew up in the St. Louis area and attended Central Methodist University earning a B.A. in Political Science. Upon graduation from college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 13 months in Vietnam. Mike then returned home, attended law school, and received his J.D. from the University of Missouri at Columbia. His former military experience afforded him the opportunity to return to the U.S. Army and serve in the J.A.G. Corps as a defense attorney and Summary Court Military Judge while stationed in Savannah, Georgia.
In 1976, Mike established his own law firm in Chillicothe, Missouri and remained there for 27 years. During that time, he gained experience in the areas of family law, criminal defense, bankruptcy, probate, real estate, farm and agricultural matters and served as city attorney.
In 2003, Mike and Marilyn returned to the St. Louis area in order to care for aging parents. He opened his office in O’Fallon and currently practices in the areas of family law, estate planning, real estate, small business law and offers his clients flat fee billing.

J.C. Weyand is the longtime State's Attorney & Chief Juvenile Officer for the 10th Judicial Circuit, handling all child abuse / neglect and juvenile cases for Marion, Ralls, and Monroe Counties.
