Viking Advocates, LLC

An Iowa native, Aaron grew up "within the fortress" as the son of a career Army NCO.  The three formative years he spent in Belgium set the course for a career in "something international... I don't know what."  He studied political science and French at Morningside College (more international "I don't know what", but definitely pre-law!), and then spent 16 years trying to get to law school.  Through stints as a U.S. Senate staffer and horribly failed insurance agent, the law sat in the background, pestering him, until he finally left a successful career in telecom sales to attend UMKC Law, graduating in 2012.  In 2016, he  launched Viking Advocates, LLC, a consulting law firm with a practice dedicated solely to assisting other lawyers with cross-border civil procedure.  The publisher of The Hague Law Blog, he is internationally recognized as an expert in the practical application of various treaties, particularly the Hague Service Convention.  He and his wife, Peggy, live in Brookside, KCMO.
